The movie is about an undead superhero The Crow (Lee) getting revenge upon a gang that killed him and his wife. The movie does a great job setting the theme with the opening. It starts with a shot of Detroit on fire and then focuses upon an apartment where a violent crime just took place. The Crow is an Fantasy, Action, Thriller movie that was released in 1994 and has a run time of 1 hr 42 min. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.6 and a MetaScore of 71.

Description movie:

A crow is a raucous, abrasive, unloved bird, and an apt nickname for the lead character in Dorota Kedzierzawska's Crows -- a 9-year old girl who possesses all of the above characteristics (although the first two could be the result of the third). This short and simple film is beautiful not only in its emotionally-honest story but in its cinematography, which won an international award. Crows is about the basic human need for companionship and love, and echoes the age-old theme that no person is an island. The Crow (as the protagonist is referred to) is routinely scorned by her schoolmates and ignored by a mother who's always too tired for her. Eventually, wanting some sort of family life of her own, the Crow kidnaps a 3-year old child and attempts to leave Poland by sea. Most of the film centers around the relationship between these two girls as the older one recognizes that being a parent entails more than giving and receiving love. Director Dorota Kedzierzawska has done a marvelous job of coaxing unaffected performances from her young actors. The movie works because these children are believable. Their relationship is fraught with all the complications and complexities one might expect when a 9-year old with limited patience seeks an outlet for a wellspring of untapped love. Crows has a style perfectly wedded to its plot: fresh, bright, and touching.

The soundtrack to the superhero film The Crow was released in 1994.^[2]

The album featured covers, including Nine Inch Nails who covered Joy Division's 'Dead Souls', Pantera who covered Poison Idea's 'The Badge', and Rollins Band who covered Suicide's 'Ghost Rider', which is about a Marvel Comicscharacter. Rage Against the Machine re-recorded their 1991 B-side 'Darkness of Greed' and renamed it 'Darkness' for this soundtrack. The Cure also wrote the song 'Burn' for the movie. Stone Temple Pilots originally intended to re-record a song off their Mighty Joe Young demo, titled 'Only Dying', but was never able to when Brandon Lee had died during production. Medicine re-recorded their song 'Time Baby II' for the film's soundtrack album as 'Time Baby III', which featured guest vocals by Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins, although the original version is performed by Medicine in the film. 'It Can't Rain All the Time' was co-written by Jane Siberry and the film's composer Graeme Revell, performed by Siberry. An orchestral version of 'It Can't Rain All the Time' can be heard in the film multiple times.

The inclusion of songs written by The Cure and Joy Division are notable because the influences of both bands are present in the original comic book. James O'Barr, the creator of The Crow, reprinted the lyrics to the song 'The Hanging Garden' by The Cure on an entire page, and some chapters of the comic book are named after Joy Division songs – 'Atmosphere' and 'Atrocity Exhibition', for example. In one panel, Eric even quotes a lyric from the song 'Disorder' from the album Unknown Pleasures. O'Barr was a big fan of both bands when he was creating the comic book.

The other music in the film which is not included in the soundtrack is instead on The Crow: Original Motion Picture Score of original, mostly orchestral music, with some electronic and guitar elements, written for the film by Graeme Revell.

Peaking at the top of the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, the album has sold 3.8 million copies in the United States, and has been certified 3x-Platinum by RIAA.^[3][4]
